All PPE and RPE is supplied by SCS at no cost to the worker, must be correctly fitted before work starts and inspected at every prestart. Damaged or expired items are removed from service immediately. Tight-fitting respirators require a clean-shaven face and a fit check each time they are worn; harnesses and lanyards must carry a current inspection tag. Workers are trained in the selection, fitting, use, cleaning and storage of every item listed here. PPE is the last line of defence and never replaces higher-order controls in the hierarchy.
